The Glass Passenger will be released on September 30th, 2008 and I posted the tracklist in a previous post.

Jack's Mannequin has released a really short teaser video.

But, to give us a taste of what's going to be on The Glass Passenger, "the band will release an iTunes exclusive EP titled The Ghost OverGround on August 5, 2008. " The EP will feature songs to be on The Glass Passenger and live versions of songs from the old album.

Also, check out the The Ghost OverGround album cover art, plus 3 new promotional pictures of Andrew McMahon below the text. I can't wait for The Ghost OverGround to be released!

Comic-Con audience got to watch the first episode of Heroes!

What?? What is this?? I'm on my way to check TV listings on zap2it.com and I see this frontpage article that they got to watch the premiere of Heroes! The full episode for the third season. I'm not sure if there are leaks..but Tim Kring (series creator) asked the audience not to bootleg the episode, but tell their friends "that the show is terrific and that it's back, better than ever."

It better be better than ever...the second season was not as strong as the first season.

*slight Spoilers below*

From the article, the first episode is titled "The Second Coming."
Also, from the first episode we learn:

  • another potentially apocalyptic event that needs preventing
  • a series of disasters set in a future in which Peter is scarred
  • Claire has become a fetching brunette
  • involves a mysterious formula and it builds into a religious subtext hinted at in the episode title
  • learn who shot Peter within the first five minutes
  • meet one new character
  • see surprising sides of two established characters that nobody could see coming
  • Ali Larter appears in lingerie
  • Suresh makes a medical discovery that's so mind-boggling simplistic that his deceased father's PhD should be retroactively confiscated
*End of Spoilers*

Dammnit...we got to wait until September for the season to start! :(

The Dark Knight sets opening day record and most likely break weekend record!

The Dark Knight breaks single day box office record with $66.4 million. It beat out the previous record of $59.8 million set by Spider-Man 3.

It also picked up a record $18.5 million ticket sales for preview screenings.

"The film will likely break the opening weekend record of $151.1 million set by the Spider-Man movie, said Dan Fellman, head of distribution at Warner Bros."

BoxOfficeMojo has the July 18-20 weekend box office gross at $155.3 million for The Dark Knight, but the weekend hasn't ended yet!

"Only 10 other movies have crossed the $100 million domestic box-office mark in their first weekends."

The Dark Knight was definitely a great movie. It did not disappoint. I went to see the midnight showing and it was worth it. If you haven't seen it... go see it! It has a imdb rating of 9.7 with 46, 915 votes and a 94% on the Tomatometer as of writing this. This is a good year of movies...Wanted, Wall-E, Iron Man...

Looks like Kevin McKidd may be joining the Grey's Anatomy cast next season

. Sunday, July 6, 2008

Kevin McKidd who was in last season's time-traveling drama on NBC, Journeyman, is in serious talks to join the cast of Grey's Anatomy. He would play a M.D. who "comes to the hospital after a stint in Iraq. It's expected to be a long story arc for McKidd, who also played the soldier Lucius Vorenus in HBO's regrettably short-lived Rome."

I haven't seen anything he's in expect one episode of Journeyman. But, he seems to play mostly serious characters as this Grey's role seems to be too. I wonder how he'll do with the comedy part of the show. It'll be interesting to see. We'll see if I like his character or not...but all the casts seem to grow on me...except for Rebecca! (I like that she's gone now)

Presto, the short Pixar movie that played before the WALL-E movie

. Saturday, July 5, 2008

Presto is a short comedic film/clip about a magician, Presto, and rabbit, Alec. The magician forgets to feed his rabbit before a show and ends up with a show gone awry as the rabbit turns the table on him. Don't worry it has a happy ending. :)

This was a hilarious and well-made clip. I loved it.

Below is a HD (High-Definition) video of it (or you can view it with HD OFF for faster loading):

July 4th day...WALL-E, Hancock, Bubba Gump, Fireworks

.

The day started off with lunch...a few friends were late 30 minutes...so we had to catch a later movie time. We watched Wall-E and the same people that were late didn't stay for the second movie (Hancock) with the rest of us. Then, we made our way to the Pier for dinner at Bubba Gump and fireworks show.

The day really didn't start out great. One of my friend and I were pretty annoyed that they were late 30 minutes and then had to watch later showings, which could have conflicted with dinner plans. We were itching to go see Wall-E ever since the first day it came out...the reason? the answer is on a previous post. But, by the time it was movie time we were focused on the movie only.

Wall-E, overall, was pretty good. I would give it 8 stars. The first portion of the movie had it's funny moments here and there. But, I found it sort of slow, not much happening in the beginning. The second portion the pace picked up. The movie has a message to it and may make you think at the end.

My friends and I talked about the humans in the movie the most because *spoiler* *spoiler ahead* *last warning of spoilers ahead* they were fat and all couch potatoes. It was pretty hilarious when the space shuttle tipped to one side and they all fell out of there chair to the side. And there feet/toes were so small too! lol.
*END OF SPOILER*

Hancock was also pretty funny. It's a easy-going, comedic-action movie? lol does that even make sense? I didn't really expect anything going into to the movie. I ended up liking the movie. I don't love it or anything. It's just a fun flick to watch.

Hancock has already made $41 million by Saturday morning.

*spoilers* *spoilers ahead* *last warning of spoilers ahead*

I totally did not expect Charlize Theron's character to have super powers. It just came out of nowhere. But, I knew since the first scene that Hancock and her character had together, that they knew each other somehow. For a second, I thought her character might be evil since she had black eyeliner, was angry, and the sky was turning grey.
*END OF SPOILER*

After the movies, we made our way to the Pier for dinner at Bubba Gump and fireworks at 9:30pm. Bubba Gump (wikipedia, official site) is a restaurant inspired by the movie Forest Gump. We ended up waiting 2 hours for a table. We kind of just decided to stay in line and by the time we were 1 hour in..we were kind of in too deep to not wait anymore.

We got our table around late 8:30ish and I order a "Bucket of Boat Trash." One of my friends ordered a dip (don't remember the name). She's a vegetarian so she could not eat a majority of the food. The other two friends had Mahi Mahis. Oh yea we also got two Chocolate Cookie Sundae similar to a Pizookie from BJ's Restaurant.

So we needed up "watching" the fireworks in Bubba Gump. It's more like we heard and saw lights then the actual fireworks. We couldn't see much through the windows. But, it was still an experience and just hanging out.
